#27: Money Matters
This next statement is one that depends a lot on context and where this person comes from, because it’s not universally true. Some places might think it’s totally uncouth that we talk about money way more than they are comfortable with, while other cultures are probably shocked to know that we are way more shy about talking about money than they are.

There are certainly Americans who will happily ask a stranger how much money they make, but in the circles I move in, you wouldn’t ask someone that unless you were very close friends. Although I do think it’s important for people to be willing to talk openly about their wages; wage transparency is important for making sure employees know if their employer is treating them fairly.
