#30: You’re a Grand Old Flag
People in the USA have a very weird relationship with the national flag. There are people who are insanely protective of it, to the point that they will be very angry if they feel that someone—say, a football player who chooses not to behave the way they’d like during the national anthem—is disrespecting it.

On the other hand, there are people—and it’s often the same people—who use the flag as a pattern on absolutely everything: not only swimsuits, but also bumper stickers, cookie cars, underpants, doormats, and more. I’ve never been able to figure out why that is not considered disrespectful when so many other things are.
