I’m torn on this next one. For sure, I think that tipping culture has gotten way out of hand, and I would much prefer to have servers paid higher wages and have the prices I pay for my food adjusted to match.

But the only situation that I have been in where a restaurant informs you what the tip will be is when it’s a large party. In that case, the tip is automatically added to your bill to make sure you don’t stiff the poor waiter and to compensate them for the extra work. And that actually seems really reasonable to me.
