#57: A marketing scheme
It’s no secret that in our age of consumerism, companies use the holidays as an excuse to market and sell their products – products that most of us don’t really need, but we buy them anyway. As the years go by, our modern society values and sanctify products and materialism, and large companies use the holidays to make a profit.

But that’s not even the best part of this confusing letter. Although this clever kid knows the idea of Santa Claus is nothing but a marketing scheme, he still feels confident enough to ask him for presents, not before saying Santa better get his act together and talking about some Dolphin Mafia (what?). And finally, he gets to the point of the letter: what he wants for Christmas is a stormtrooper helmet and a drawing tablet. Confused? You’re not alone.
