#7: A puppy
We can tell that a pet, and more particularly a puppy, is a popular request. Kids often want dogs because they’re sweet, but they aren’t aware of the responsibilities attached to having a pet. Parents, on the other hand, know that having a pet is a big responsibility, which is why they’re often reluctant to get a dog.

However, this kind of responsibility can be good for the kid (as long as the parents keep an eye on the pet as well!). Having a dog is not all fun and games – it also teaches kids about responsibility, taking care of a living creature, and provides them with a close friend and a furry ally. It seems like Emily really wants a dog and she might be ready to take on the responsibility – she’s even ready to give up all the other nine (9) gifts on her list.
