The Deathbed Phenomena
Kids aren’t the only ones in touch with something greater than ourselves. It is quite common for older people who are about to pass away to see others around them who aren’t physically there. Research has shown that these hallucinations of people can be comforting and even contribute to a peaceful death. This may be true, but it can be quite bewildering for other people in the room.
This storyteller’s father kept seeing people in his room whom no one else could see. No one knew what to say whenever he asked who they were. This occurrence, known as “deathbed phenomena,” is considered to be a hallucination created by your brain during the dying process. However, depending on your personal beliefs, it’s nice to think these visitors could be angels or spirits of loved ones coming to accompany the dying to the other side.
