#29: The Human Brain Isn’t Random
It’s funny that even the word random, which is supposed to be the most apolitical, unbiased, unconscious thing, has its own cultural connotations attached to it. When we think of random things we tend to think of rather particular things that seem to fit into the category known as ‘random’.

I admit myself have fallen for this very trick, regularly choosing 3 or 7 when given the option to choose between 1 and 10, thinking myself to be very sophisticated and clearly making the most random choice. The truth is the human mind has very little capacity for randomness, even if sometimes the things we do are so silly that they appear so.
