#26: A Bunch of Rookies…
I like it when there are multiple layers to an unexpected occurrence. Here, we have quite a number. First and foremost, the fact that most of the flatmates didn’t know how to play poker in the first place is quite surprising. I thought learning poker was a rite of passage every kid went through at about age fourteen.

Second of all, the results of the hand themselves. Two players, each getting a royal flush on the same hand, does seem like a pretty unlikely thing to happen. And then there’s the combination of the two factors, leading to two royal flushes with no one understanding their significance. Shame for those players who didn’t have anyone to share their joy with!
