Statistically Unlikely Events That Happened to Everyday People

I must say my familiarity with this particular game isn’t quite high enough to understand the specific significance of finding a shiny Onix, but I have to assume it’s something quite rare and very good. I also have to assume that it’s the kind of thing that you don’t want to immediately kill.

So if you’re not supposed to whip out a weapon and assassinate a shiny Onix on sight, what is it that you’re supposed to do with it? Are you meant to buy it a bunch of flowers and see if it’s interested in a dinner date? Do any of you out there have an answer for me so I don’t need to keep wracking my brains?
