The Goonies is a classic adventure film beloved by many. Steven Spielberg was the film’s executive producer and was very involved in the making of the film. He planned a little surprise on set for the kids starring in the film, but their reactions didn’t go exactly as he hoped.

Spielberg kept the ship in the final set as a surprise for the kids in order to get a genuine reaction out of them while filming. The child actors were not as innocent as Spielberg thought, though. Their genuine reactions involved a lot of cursing! This was obviously not okay for the family-friendly movie, so they had to reshoot the scene.
