Purple Grinch?
We’re all familiar with the seasonal holiday villain, the infamous Grinch who stole Christmas. We’re all familiar with the green Grinch today, but apparently. He wasn’t always green. We always thought the color suited him, because most of us associate green with jealousy and other negative emotions, so we’ve never really questioned it – but that wasn’t his original color.

In the 1956 Dr. Seuss book How the Grinch Stole Christmas!, the character was black and white with pink eyes. However, he was never purple either – that’s just fiction. In 1966, cartoonist Chuck Jones was inspired to make the Grinch green, after driving an incredibly ugly green rented car. That’s how the Grinch turned green!
