Richard Chamberlain – Now 89 Years Old
Richard Chamberlain, born in 1934, began his acting career in stage productions before achieving fame on screen. Before pursuing a career in acting, he attended Pomona College and studied art. Chamberlain gained immense popularity as Dr. Kildare in the 1960s TV series Dr. Kildare and later starred in the epic miniseries Shogun and The Thorn Birds.
His portrayal of gay characters in The Children’s Hour and The Slipper and the Rose broke barriers at a time when such roles were rare. Despite dealing with Hollywood’s prejudice against revealing his sexuality, Chamberlain remains an accomplished actor with a career spanning decades.
